Let customers speak for us
from 245 reviewsNew to the FGC and jumped in pretty heavy. Coming from keyboard, levelerless made the most sense and this layout spoke to me. I love the size of the main buttons, the larger button replacing 7/8 has been great. Build feels very premium, good weight, nice foam pad, no creaking in the body at all. USB cable is premium and very secure. If you're thinking of spending 150+ dollars on an amazon/aliexpress leverless that creaks and disconnects, I would strongly consider this instead!
I was largely interested in leverless because accidentally jumping while using pad was getting very annoying the better I got at fighting games, because I had tried stick in the past and not really cared for the joystick but found hitting the buttons fun, and just for the novelty of a new controller. This particular controller interested me because I couldn't imagine playing SF6 on leverless without extra buttons in better locations than standard L1/L2 for DI/Parry, and I liked the idea of a split layout. The size and placements of the buttons honestly blew me away and the controller is way more comfortable than I assumed it would be. Configuring the controller was less intimidating than I thought it would be and allowed me to reach a really comfy set up where I remapped the left side up button, which is obviously in a nice spot ergonomically, to L2. With the left side pinky button being my L1, there is very little movement necessary with my hands it's really just my right hand fingers needing to hit the main 6 buttons over there. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase and that as a bonus I could support a fellow Canadian as well.
Sometimes you want random things that are so niche that it can’t possibly exist unless you make it from scratch yourself. I always wanted,
1) Flat’ish style box that uses full profile switches
2) Had enough room for a palm rest
3) Had keys that were spaced out so hands could be comfortably separated
4) Used keyboard keys for directions
5) Had smaller arcade style buttons (not the typical 30mm, 24mm)
I always found some that fit 2 out of 5, sometimes 3 out of 5 but never all 5… till I one day stumbled upon a YouTube video doing a breakdown review and linking me to Mavercade site. To the YouTube reviewer and Mavercade, thank you both. Met all my expectations exactly!
PS. Even made me a retro SF2 WW custom print to fit under the plexi.
The Mavercade KeebBrawler-02MX was exactly what I was looking for! Coming from prominently mouse and keyboard gaming, this made learning fighting games more familiar.
I've had the 04MX for a couple weeks now and I have to say it is performing exactly as I wanted it to. It did take a bit to adjust to the new layout, and I learned a few things about what I had trained my hands to do for shortcuts, because unlearning those bad habits was "fun." Now I have exactly what I hoped for: a more comfortable leverless experience with buttons in the places where my hands rest more naturally.
I player leverless because of hand/wrist issues, a stick makes my wrists and fingers flare up in a way that leverless doesn't. This product reduces the remaining minor discomforts of the cramped layout that "h*tbox" popularized. The only issue with this controller is that now that I've learned how to use it I can't go back to my other ones, lol.
I really like how it looks. The cut and quality looks amazing. My friends can't stop admiring it. I can't wait for the holographic print service to come. 10/10 overall
I can't recommend this controller highly enough. The build quality and feature set are amazing at this price. After shipping, this thing was cheaper than a snackbox micro, and outperforms it in every single regard.
Don't know how you did it, but it feels nicer than the previous one I bought from you. The Keebrawler-04.
Amazing!
This has some weight to it and I like it. I love everything about this hitbox style controller. With the art, it looks amazing. I finished another custom art for this mavercade hitbox.
I'll wait until they have the holographic print service, and I will definitely sent it to be made
If you enjoy the typing experience of browns on a keyboard this translates well in a leverless layout.
Absolutely premium quality controller. The offered art cut/print service provided on order; along with the EVA bottom padding, lengthy angled usb-c cable included as a standard are all hard to beat. Comfortable, sturdy and at a reasonable pricepoint without having to break the bank like some other options out there. The layout is unique, but functional and comfortable after adjusting from a more cramped leverless layout you find on other products on the market.
I specifically went for this stick due to the split layout and I couldn't be happier. Not only is it super comfortable to play on but it looks and feels awesome. Compact design makes for a small footprint but it's also nice and sturdy with good weight to it. Cool LEDs and customizable features with the gp40 as well.
Here's a reworded version:
This is probably the best customer service experience I've had. I'm not just saying this as a fan of hit boxes, but because it's truly a great product. The build quality and layout make it the most comfortable leverless controller I've used. After trying various controllers like the SBM, Victrix, Scuf, keyboard, and PS4, this is the one that finally stuck with me after a year of searching. Initially, I was skeptical, but after seeing J. Wong's recommendation, I decided to give it a shot—and it turned out to be the best decision I've made.
I've now had this leverless for a bit over a month. I bought it on a bit of a whim, but it immediately became my go-to controller.
The dimensions, weight, and build quality are all great. It feels like a solid controller in my lap.
Love the split button layout, feels less cramped than standard leverless layouts. The buttons and switches also feel really nice to play on (I went with the Silent Linear.) I also found myself personally preferring the big option buttons (start, select, etc) this comes with, rather than the smaller dot buttons some controllers have. On top of that, the GP2040-CE firmware makes experimenting with button layouts a breeze.
The stacked acrylic also opens up many possibilities for customisation with stickers or multi-layer artwork with depth illusion.
Im summary, an incredible and solid leverless controller with huge possibilities for customisation.
Easy 5/5, hugely recommended.
