Remarkably ergonomic and literally pocketable. I didnt expect my gameplay to improve coming from a Keyboard but it did, simply because my wrists are not straining. I keep it in a small Hip pack when im out and about just in case people wana throw down (and farm wins cause im trash). Cant wait for button caps in fun colours.
It is good
Came within a few weeks of ordering and everything works perfectly!
Great introduction to leverless. Easy to mod
Excellent build quality and attention to detail. Really enjoying the wider button layout.
I have used my KeebFighter03 for about 20 hours so far, the overall feel is really nice and comfy
it is way lighter than anticipated which is gonna come in handy for portability. Overall i am very satisfied with my choice :3
I have wider hands and most leverless options feel too cramped in the middle. The Keebbrawler layout, on the other hand, feels super comfortable to play with. I've been using mine for a month and it works great!
Although it's not as small as something like a snackbox, it's pretty portable (at least much more so than a traditional fightstick).
Lastly, the customer service/support was amazing! Huge thank you to Will for answering all of my questions and helping me out even after my purchase!
Its a great controller that feels like good quality. The layout is perfect for streetfighter and other fighting games
So damn fun and responsive. It feels like a brand new world picking up this lever less for the first time.
Mavercade is the real deal. This controller is the real deal. I love how affordable these controllers are. They're such a good price for people looking to explore this scene and get into fighting games.
Major plus: You can absolutely take this thing apart and customize it and it doesn't feel like you're doing something bad. It's built to do exactly that. But if you're just looking for a controller that works right out the box and need to try a leverless controller, this one is a great value, especially if you've been using a keyboard to try to see if you like a leverless controller.
This also does not take that much space on my desk. Which is great! But also, having a leverless controller is nice on my old gamer hands. Now it's more like typing to play a fighting game, rather than feeling like my hand is going to seize up from rolling my thumb.
Really happy with my controller! I think the plexi top and the foam bottom takes it a step up from controllers that are fully 3D printed. And the hotswap sockets mean you can easily get the button feel you're after.
The customer service from Mavercade is also good. We had a bit of an issue since the controller had to be shipped internationally around the holidays, but Will from Mavercade was able to help and make sure I still got my order on time.
A positive experience all around!
Tried and failed to get into fighting games so many times over the years. Even tried a number of input options ranging from many gamepads, to arcade sticks, to even my keyboard before deciding to try this as my first leverless after messing around with a few "simulated" layouts by moving binds around my keyboard. Love love the spaciousness and comfort of it as well as the thoughtfully different button placement. Feels super sturdy.
I've got a long way to go in learning my fighting games of choice now but for the first time, I feel like I'm at least hitting the base motion inputs with consistency and my hands don't come away from sessions uncomfortable or strained.
The unique button layout drew me in and I had to get one as soon as they were in stock. Its got a good weight, very smooth/satisfying button presses (the pill buttons feel like mini spacebars), and the GP2040-CE board comes with a lot of modular options for button assignment. I main SF6 (GGS, DBFZ on the side) right now, and this does improve the comfort of the right hand. HOWEVER, please be prepared to relearn how to move and place your hands for combos, have patience with the re-adjustment period.
Ordered the 04S because it was the version most readily available to me, specifically to try playing Zangief on it, and to see if I could wrap my head around having thumb and pinky buttons on both hands. I couldn't really consistently get Zangief's SPD inputs correctly on my 01, but now with the second up button on my right hand, it makes exactly as much sense as doing Kara Pot Buster already did, and pretty much overnight I went from jumping more often than not, to almost never missing an SPD input.
Also, this thing has a ton of much appreciated heft and hand space to it. Super, super comfortable to use. Big fan. Really the only way I could see it being better is if there was a tented version of it.
